Local Ottawa wedding vendors, you may not know about.

Canada, and Ottawa specifically, has so many incredibly talented people. And the wedding community is packed full of underappreciated people.

Makers hold a special place in my heart for so many reasons. The drive, the creativity, the skill, the hours upon hours working on their specific skills.

My family attempts to support as many local talents and businesses as we can. My daughter's nursery has art, furniture, blankets and so much more made right here in Ottawa even her crib is made in Canada!

Some great local wedding vendors and makers you may not know about are:

Fluid Jewellery - fluid-jewellery.myshopify.com/ - I’ve been following Caelen work for many years now, he designed and made not only my engagement ring but also both mine and my husband's wedding bands.

These are my and my husband’s rings taken by Melissa Kew Photography at our wedding

Heist Jewellery - myheistjewellery.com -  is also a very neat local jewellery shop! My favourite aspect of this business is that you can go in and make your own wedding bands with the help and talent of the staff there.

NKIN - nkin.ca - Is a newer shop in the area. They started as a fully online store making custom wedding stuff and have since become one of the go too places to get all things wedding! They even have a second-hand consignment dress pop up! I love buying ring boxes, ring cleaner, and other bride/groom related gifts from them.

Chalked By Mabz - You can find her on instagram - Mabz isn’t only super funny, but she’s ridiculously talented, she rents a “just married” leather jacket out to brides for a bottle of wine! #justmarriedjacket is super cool and makes for a stunning statement piece. You can also get Mabz to make you cool signs and seating charts for your wedding!

The Girl with the Most Cake -www.thegirlwiththemostcake.com - I first had her cakes at a wedding I photographed and have been crazy for them ever since. If you haven’t tried her cake yet then do it. You can either order or she’s usually at the Carp Farmers Market where if you’re quick enough you can snag one of her super cute mini cakes.

A mini wedding cake awaits being eaten.

Riverwood Gardens - www.riverwoodgardens.ca - Amber is so kind and has the most incredible way with flowers. I’ve worked with her a couple of times and each time I’m in awe of her creations.

Jimmy’s Suits aka “Jimmy the Suit Guy” -  (613) 851-1317 - For years grooms and groomsmen alike all said we got them from Jimmy when I asked about their wedding attire. He has no social media, no website, just an address and phone number. He is all word of mouth and old school. He takes one look at you and knows exactly what you need size wise. Trust the process, go see Jimmy.
